THIS MORNING I HAD THE CHANCE TO JOIN LOCAL BUSINESSES AND EXPERTS IN THE FIELD OF FIBER OPTIC CONNECTIVITY AT WREXHAM GLYNDWR UNIVERSITY.

Full Fibre Digital Connectivity for North Wales showcased the impressive social and economic benefits that full fibre connectivity can deliver to North Wales.

It was an extremely informative day, featuring presentations, case studies, speeches, workshops, information on funding and networking opportunities. I was delighted to have been asked by the Chair of Deeside Business forum to say a few works.

Delegates invited included local private business representatives, local and national government, DBF members, key telecommunication organisations, all six North Wales local authorities, and representatives from public sector organisations, including the NHS, schools and higher education.

Workshops were tailored to suit all levels of understanding, from entry-level to technical specialist understanding of the technologies surrounding fibre networks.

North Wales now has the unique opportunity to implement Gigabit speed full-fibre broadband connectivity across the region, from private businesses, to public sector organisations, to domestic households.

This marks the first UK-based fibre connectivity conference organised exclusively to advance the knowledge of attendees on the socio-economic benefits of full fibre broadband in North Wales.

The event further coincided with application for funding critical to achieving digital connectivity for the area via the North Wales Growth Deal and the UK Government LFFN (Local Full Fibre Networks) funds.

The ongoing campaign promotes the significant impact in recognising North Wales as an especially attractive location for business growth and investment, as part of our long-term vision to accredit it as the most digitally connected region in the United Kingdom.
