IT IS AN HONOUR TO HAVE BEN ELECTED AS THE NEW ASSEMBLY MEMBER FOR ALYN AND DEESIDE. I AM HUMBLED BY THE TRUST AND FAITH THE PEOPLE OF THIS AREA HAVE PUT IN ME. I AM IN THE ASSEMBLY TO CARRY ON DAD'S LEGACY, AS WELL AS BUILD ON IT WITH MY OWN IDEAS. ABOVE ALL THAT, I HAVE ALSO BEEN ELECTED TO STAND UP FOR OUR AREA - THAT IS WHAT I INTENT TO DO.

During my first day at the Assembly, I had the opportunity to meet a range of people across the Assembly Estate as well as my colleagues. I also had the first glimpse of my seat in the Senedd chamber!

It was an opportunity to start planning for the challenges ahead, not to mention getting to know my new workplace. I had excellent meetings with a range of Assembly staff - making sure our office is fit for the people I am here to serve. It was also a good chance to say thank you to all the members of staff who have supported me and my family following dad's death in November.

I look forward to the challenges ahead and starting my role as the new Assembly Member for Alyn and Deeside.
